In a bizarre crossover event that breaks usual forecasts, the game developer has revealed an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the official statement, "An unusual confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of banned ceremonies and monstrous transformations reverberate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden sect.
The adventure centers on "strange trials and a monstrous foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Additional Content
Players who finish the adventure will acquire an unique katana alongside several items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Update
This release also introduces the game's newest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
